Hael Heritage helps owners, custodians and professionals understand damp, decay, previous repairs and other concerns in traditional buildings before committing to investigation or repair.
Advice is independent, proportionate and shaped by the building rather than by a standard treatment or product.
The Traditional Building Concerns Review provides a clear starting point for one principal concern. Where closer investigation is needed, Jake can provide site visits, assessments, reports and wider consultancy.
Remote review of photographs, background information and brief existing documents, followed by a concise written Review Note and a follow-up call.
Closer investigation of damp, decay, previous repairs or building defects where the concern needs to be considered on site.
Condition surveys, written reports, lime and material advice, repair guidance and project oversight, scoped to the building and the work required.
Guidance may be useful when a visible symptom is difficult to interpret, when previous work may be affecting the building, or when you need confidence before deciding what should happen next.
When staining, condensation, deterioration or persistent moisture needs to be understood before treatment or repair begins.
When cement, waterproof coatings, injected treatments or other interventions may be affecting the building’s condition or moisture movement.
When you need clearer priorities, suitable materials and an understanding of the likely consequences before instructing work.
When different opinions, reports or proposed treatments make it difficult to judge what the building actually needs.
Hael Heritage is led by Jake Mitchell. He reviews each enquiry, carries out the agreed consultancy work and explains the findings directly, giving clients a clear point of responsibility throughout.
Your enquiry and any project discussions go directly to the person who will carry out the work.
Advice is based on the building and the available evidence, not on selling products, treatments or physical repair work.
Materials, construction, condition, moisture behaviour and previous interventions are considered together before recommendations are made.
PROCESS
The exact route depends on the concern, but the appropriate service, scope and fee are agreed clearly before work begins.
01
Send a short description with relevant photographs, background information and the property location.
02
Jake will advise whether the Concerns Review, a site visit or another form of consultancy is the most appropriate starting point.
03
After the agreed review or assessment, the findings and practical next steps are explained clearly, with any further work agreed separately.
You do not need to know the cause or the correct repair before making contact. Describe what you have noticed and Jake will advise which form of support is most appropriate.
The Traditional Building Concerns Review may be suitable where one principal concern can be considered remotely using photographs, background information and brief existing documents.
01 You have one principal damp, decay or previous-repair concern
02 You can provide clear photographs and relevant background information
03 You need initial guidance before arranging a site visit or committing to repair work
